Cruze Farm Internship: currently accepting Fall 2017 applicants
What we require of you:
-We are looking for energetic, motivated, teachable, positive, grateful, dependable, hard working, responsible and clean-cut interns
-Desire to learn
-Ability to lift 50 lbs
-Ability to wake up early and be on time
-Good communication skills
-Ability to work well with others
-Ability to work long hours in uncomfortable conditions
-Valid driver’s license
-Must be at least 18 years old
-Requires a 2 day checkout prior to acceptance or strong recommendation
-Work 5-6 days per week
-Living accommodations are free in our fully furnished farmhouse. Each intern will have their own room. Interns will share a furnished kitchen, one bathroom, washer and dryer. All utilities are paid for. Housing provided (no wifi on farm but free wifi available 5 miles away). Hourly pay starts at $8/hour (can start higher depending previous experience).
The Milking Barn
-Every intern must know how to milk cows. The cows are milked everyday, twice a day.
-identify mastitis and health problems
-clean, clean, clean (every task in the dairy requires cleaning and being clean)
-churning ice cream
-packing ice cream
-delivering milk if needed
The Farm Stand
-March 2017 we are building a farm stand which will open in May and be open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday
working at the farm stand:
scooping ice cream
teaching children and adults where milk and food comes from
growing a field of sunflowers
The Soft Serve Truck
-Every Saturday, the soft serve truck will go to downtown Knoxville to sell ice cream from 9-2pm

If you are interested in interning at Cruze Farm, please read through our expectations. Farming is not always “comfortable.” It can be dirty, smelly, buggy, and it always requires a lot of physical labor. While some tasks may seem repetitive, we see them as opportunities to improve and become more efficient.
